Back Porch Pottery

I have always done some types of arts and crafts but only dreamed of doing pottery. Fall 2006 I finally gave it a try and have been hooked ever since. 

I am having a great time learning but I came to the realization was that it isn't as easy as it looks. It took me back to being an ole competitive swimmer. I was not going to let it beat me, and I was determined to reach certain goals. First just to keep the lump of clay on the rapidly spinning wheel, and then centering the clay. That's where the challenge starts   now I have moved on to bringing the clay up to form what "I" want it to be, instead of whatever it becomes.


I am having so much fun fighting and attempting to control chunks of mud and trying to create something that someone can enjoy. I am thrilled when someone likes and purchases my pieces so that I can go buy some more clay to wrestle with.
